About Now That’s A Mouthful Podcast and your Hosts
Now That’s A Mouthful is a podcast created to talk about our shared experience of cooking and eating the food we cook. Our community of volunteer testers cook, bake and talk with us about what’s happening in their kitchens. It’s their feedback that fuels our conversations and helps determine what we should be talking about as a community of home cooks and food lovers. Each weekly episode is hosted by Chef Donna Desfor and Cherie Krause. Together they’ll talk about the recipes we’re cooking from, the questions that make us scratch our heads and wonder why, and help everyone understand the unique experiences and challenges of cooking in our home kitchens.
Meet your hosts
Chef Donna Desfor
Donna Desfor, known among clients and friends as a “modern day Julia Child,” forged her culinary path after a 17-year career in law. She attended L’ecole de Chefs, an apprentice program for non-culinary professionals in 2003, training at the then #1 rated South African restaurant, Bosman’s, at the Grand Roche Hotel in Paarl. Since then she created There’s a Chef in My Kitchen, opened The Baudelaire Onion Tasting Room, has appeared on national and local TV, and radio. After creating and co-producing the pilot season of Now That’s A Mouthful, she was in consideration for the 2017 James Beard Awards for Best Podcast Host, and for Best Podcast – Episode 29: Not-So-Extreme Baking.
Inspired by the enthusiastic questions and conversations she has with clients, fans and friends about food, Chef Donna and local news media station WITF created Now That’s A Mouthful so cooking enthusiasts can participate in weekly conversations about how we cook in our home kitchens.
An avid fly fisher, she also loves to ski and golf. Donna lives in central Pennsylvania with her husband, David.
